This month the Green Fairy talks about the population decline in honeybees. Scientists have given it a name: Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). They are finding bee colonies abandoned by the adults. Sometimes they find the queen and some surviving adults, plus a bunch of larvae still capped in their beds. But they haven't found any dead bodies around the hive. The bee decline is worrisome, as their crop pollination services are crucial for US agriculture.
